PAXTON AT THE VENICE BIENNALE

The Venice Biennale saw the Paxton modular system as the protagonist.

The highly original modular system in transparent polycarbonate designed by Paxton was in fact chosen for the setting up of the Montenegro Pavilion, in which the artists Oleg Kulik and Milita Pavicevic exhibited for this edition.

The installation, curated by the Consultrade studio of Bari and sponsored by Siemens, focused on the theme of memory. Hence the idea of creating a completely transparent house within which to collect the works of the two artists. The skeleton of the structure, made up of transparent perimeter partitions and the roof trusses, which are also transparent, was entirely made with tubular elements and joints in transparent polycarbonate. The pitches of the roof and the perimeter walls were then padded with transparent Plexiglas sheets, so that the transparent house was also an "object" to be contemplated and not just a container.
