COMPANY PROFILE -  PAXTON  SRL

The Paxton company was founded in 1994 with the aim of devising innovative and versatile design solutions for the outfitting and commercial furnishing sector.

The company's first product is Paxton Modular - an innovative modular system made up of completely transparent joints and transparent tubes - whose patent was filed in the same year the company was founded.

Paxton Modular is a modular system made with cutting-edge technical materials and with great attention to technical details and aesthetics; the system immediately received great attention from the specialized press, at the same time obtaining positive feedback from the operators of the sector - architects, designers and fitters.

The idea behind Paxton Modular is a reinterpretation of the historic Innocenti scaffolding system, with the aim of transforming it into a design product. The goal was to preserve its technical performance but to make it more aesthetically appealing (Paxton Modular is the first system to use fully transparent tube clamps). Compared to its predecessor, the system is made much lighter - thanks to the use of new generation materials - and its aesthetic and design characteristics are reworked, so as to make it a product suitable for a wide range of applications in the furniture sector. commercial.

Paxton Pipe Clamps are made of high strength engineering polycarbonate.

Polycarbonate is a 'noble' polymer, capable of offering very high technical performance.

During the molding phase, metal inserts are directly embedded in the polymer, thus making the joint extremely tough.

The production preliminarily required long and progressive tests so that the piece reached the desired level, both from an aesthetic point of view and in terms of mechanical performance.

The tubular profiles, also made of highly resistant transparent polycarbonate, have made it possible to create 'totally transparent' structures.

Almost at the same time, the aluminum alloy tubular also went into production, which thanks to its lightness and particular aesthetic characteristics, was able to offer even more versatile solutions in the context of commercial fittings and furnishings.

Starting from the Paxton Modular 'joints and transparent tubes' system, other furnishing lines were later born, such as the 'Fluoshop' modular display system: an innovative furnishing system for setting up shop windows and shops, suitable for the creation of structures and furnishings for commercial premises.

The system - quick to assemble and disassemble - is very intuitive, as it is based on the aggregation of modules. Thanks to this feature, the design phases of the shop and the assembly of the furnishings are easily managed even by non-experts - therefore also by the shopkeeper himself - and can be carried out independently, without the contribution of specialized personnel, therefore with an evident cost savings.

Over the years, the system has been enriched with numerous accessories for completion, thus offering designers and end users all the tools necessary to create projects that are always original and unique.

Current production includes several standard lines, available for immediate delivery.

The internal staff of the company is able to provide customized solutions, designed on the basis of the customer's needs and the specificities of the application sector.

A BIT OF HISTORY

In the 1920s, pipes, which until then had only been used in the hydraulic sector for the passage of liquids, were reinterpreted and used, thanks to the intuition of Ferdinando Innocenti, as load-bearing structures in large plants.

As early as 1933, tubular scaffolding began to be produced, adopting a particularly rapid assembly and disassembly system.

This application initiated the production of scaffolding as we know it today. The modular system 'with joints and tubes', used for the construction of scaffolding for the building industry, is still called simply 'Innocenti system', in memory of its creator.

CURIOSITY

The company name 'Paxton' is based on that of Joseph Paxton, architect and botanist, creator of the famous Chrystal Palace. He was the forerunner, with his projects, of the concept of 'modularity' and he is actually credited with the invention of the first 'modular system', the one used for the construction of the Chrystal Palace.

Built in 1851 and made entirely of iron and glass, the Christal Palace is rightly considered, in the history of modern architecture, to be an avant-garde building: prefabricated modules were used for the first time, making it possible to build it in record time - it was destined to host the world's first universal exhibition - and then to dismantle it for relocation. To all intents and purposes it was the first 'temporary architecture' in history. The idea of a modular building that could be built in a short period of time and then dismantled to be rebuilt elsewhere is undoubtedly a modern concept, widely used today, but totally avant-garde for its time.
